Dr. Shields seems to know what Jess is thinking… and what she’s hiding. So good!! Absolutely love this genre and read at least two books a week. I’ve read quite a few psychological thrillers recently but the one thing they’ve all had in common is that they’re predictable.
A lot of the questions asked of the main character were very thought-provoking and really made you wonder how you would’ve answered. Do you believe that this item violates a copyright? I found myself sitting up late at night and into the early hours, trying to work out exactly where this thriller was taking me....and just when I thought I had it figured, my assuredness was completely dashed. The author doesn't know the difference between of/off for example. . The story had so much potential but it fell short and to be honest I was confused for like 90% of it. How Would YOU Respond if Your Ethics Were Questioned?
I loved this book - firstly its sense of time and place was excellent. Her writing has been published in The New York Times, Allure, and Publishers Weekly. I feel the grip, but the ending is not a blown off to get 5 stars.. An Anonymous Girl - I just finished it and thought the story was good. If you a want book where the seemingly astute, perceptive main character, within the first 50 pages, is inexplicably obsessed with, and controlled by a therapist with whom she has had no real interaction, with whom she has established no report (a therapist who has neither asked nor done anything even remotely remarkable) then I suppose, this is the book for you.
