I bulldozed through the first 19 episodes of Mandarin drama, Love Won't Wait, admittedly fast-forwarding scenes without Vanness Wu and Cecilia Cheung. You can sorta tell they actually are emotionally attuned to what their characters are going through and are acting beyond what is in the script. I find the drama watchable, despite the various sub-plots. There is a sense of camaraderie between he and Cecilia, both exuding a jaded air of “Been here, done that” world-weariness that makes their portrayals realistic and natural. Both are/had been married. Although Cecilia Cheung‘s (張栢芝) comeback in new romantic series Love Can’t Wait <如果，愛> generating buzz earlier, the drama ended up being a major flop.. I would say emotionally, they are definitely hitting the right notes with me.

( Log Out /  Cecilia was a little stiff in the first few episodes – probably due to rustiness since she hasn’t acted for quite a bit – but she became better with each episode and is delivering all the required feels for her character. Vanness Wu is cold, detached and restrained here, and while I haven’t watched all his acting projects, I personally think this is the best I have seen of him since Next Stop Happiness. In many dramas, you have actors who aren’t married/divorced acting married/divorced, which can feel a little forced and idealistic at times.
