The stories are improbable but fun, like Agatha Christie. We lose a bit of Jane this season, which was a touch disappointing, but there are consistent levels of Phryne, Jack, Dot, Hugh and the rest (although I do wish we’d see a little more of Dr. Mac), and more Aunt Prudence, who grows on you, I promise. Jack finds Phryne’s eager interest in his cases exasperating, but he comes to rely on her crime-solving instincts--and is increasingly captivated by her other charms. I enjoy the show.
