Nick drake’s death was a tragedy but this album pays great respect to a musician who was special - down to the inner sleeve which is a replica of the island records inner sleeve- i kept looking and re-looking at it trying to work it out and realised its a modern sleeve but with a copy of the original super imposed on to it. Having said that I would still score this album way above most of his, more successful, contemporaries. If he had gained popularity BEFORE dying, who knows what he could have achieved. I still think that his first album (Five Leaves Left) is his best but only by a slim margin. The ones I see here has ILPS 9134, withous the dash. Try again.

With such an introspective and fragile persona as Nick Drake I feel that less is more; it should sound intimate and the strings cut across that in an unhelpful way.
