Even though the rooms were large, we struggled to find places to put things eg our clothes for the next day. I recently visited Bruny Island and I hoped to see the white wallabies. Communication in here could be a problem. Tiny 'supermarket' located a short walk has most things you might need for a simple meal.The lounge area was a generous size with a fairly comfortable bed. Just recently I have failed to see whales in Alaska, cassowaries in Queensland and sunbathing kangaroos in Esperance but Bruny Island proved the exception. Here, the wallabies breed and sustain this very rare white variant, while separate, albino populations are spread more widely across the island. Upon entering the room we were wowed with its looks and set up. I have a long history of disappointment in the wild animal spotting stakes. It was at the sea level near the car park that we saw a white wallaby curiously watching us, among many other brown ones who were less interested. The room we had was beautifully decorated and breakfast was delivered to our doorstep every morning (make sure you get it first before the wallaby on site gets its hands on it... not to worry, the cute creature is not aggressive at all). Australian wildlife just keeps getting better and better. Bruny Island is well known for sighting white wallabies or Bennetts wallabies. Tasmania is my absolute favourite destination. This is easily one of the most memorable parts of our trip in Tasmania. As there were only 2 of us, we would had preferred a smaller option, but the rest were booked out.
